Mirador de Aviones (LEMD)

A small purpose-made spotting platform at Madrid Barajas with three steps, a slatted wooden roof for shade and two picnic tables. Comfortably fits two photographers, three at a squeeze. A large tree provides additional shade in summer. Genuinely hard to locate on mapping apps, so allow time to find it.

Best time

Open 08:00-19:00. Shade available, which matters in the Madrid summer.

Parking

Roadside parking nearby. Picnic tables on site. Hard to find - check satellite imagery before setting off.
