Melbourne Aircraft Viewing Area (Oaklands Road)

The northern viewing area at Melbourne Airport, positioned for departures heading north. The livelier of Melbourne's two viewing areas - a food truck usually operates here selling fish and chips, kebabs, burgers and ice cream, and it has a social, family-friendly atmosphere. Sits on a busy roundabout with a dirt car park. No public toilets.

Best time

After sunset is popular, especially when the food truck is open. Check arrivals beforehand - well timed, you can get a movement every 5-10 minutes.
