Mémorial Concorde (Mitry-Mory)

The memorial to the 2000 Concorde disaster, on the D84 southern perimeter road, which doubles as CDG's best-known spotting position. Close views of the southern runways with the sun favourably placed for photography, and Le Bourget arrivals visible too. Reachable by car, bike or on foot via a separated cycle path. IMPORTANT: photographing aircraft at Charles de Gaulle legally requires a free permit from the Préfecture - apply in advance to spotters@interieur.gouv.fr. Watching without a camera is unrestricted. Take real care crossing the D84 on arrival: it is fast-moving and drivers have misjudged the turn.

Best time

Southern runways (08L/26R) carry most traffic when the northern pair are under maintenance. Sun position favours this side.

Parking

Easy parking at the memorial. Site is poorly maintained with litter and broken glass. A photography permit is required for CDG - apply well in advance.
